| One of my favourite "warm-up" hangouts closed for good on Saturday, the Waterfront Cafe at the lovely Boulevard in Dumaguete. The reason is not too sad, the owner opened his Resort in Dauin and therefor keeps only a small office-corner for walk in guests who are interested in diving. The Dane and I had quite some cold ones there on his visits down here. It was also the starting point for our trips to Apo Island. I had a few "last ones" on Saturday there and it was a kinda strange with all wrapped up and stuffed in paper boxes... After 3 years I will miss the place... But all is with a crying and a laughing eye. The place will open in to weeks and the new owner is a friend of mine who runs the IMHO the best restaurant in Dumaguete. Guenther the chef and owner of Casablanca takes over and will open a kind of Restobar/Pub with breakfast from 7am and open until late. The new place will have the name Bogarts and knowing my big fat Austrian friend, I am sure it will be a great hang-out with high quality and standard. So to both good luck and all the best... cheers Rhoody |
