Lakawon Resort Located on the northern coast of Negros Occidental Province, Cadiz is bounded on the north by the Visayan Sea, on the east by Sagay City, on the south by the cities of Silay and Victorias, and on the west by Manapla town. It has a total land area of 524.6 square kilometers most of which are rural areas devoted to sugar plantation. The city center and some adjoining barangays sit on a wide flatland but gently rises towards the southernmost hilly part.
Among the 13 cities of Negros Occidental Province, Cadiz City is the fourth largest in terms of population. Most of the people are either plantation workers or fishermen. Majority speak Ilonggo while others speak Cebuano, Aklanon, and Tagalog. Roman Catholics make up the majority while the minority belongs to Iglesia Ni Cristo, Aglipayan, Jehovah Witnesses, and other Protestant sects.
