Default Leaving philippines for 2-4 weeks

Hi,

I've been living in the Philippines for 2 years+ now and now have a complete 9g working visa and ACR-I card.

I'm planning on visiting my home country (England) just for a few weeks.

How much will i have to pay at the airport in taxes and what are the exact requirements before I go home?

I just want to make sure that I can leave and return as smoothly as possible without being denied for either leaving or re-entering the country!

If it helps, I will still be working when I come back for the same company.. so there will be no requirement for visa change.

Thanks in advance

HI,
and welcome to PB,
your problem is a bit unusual and I would recommend to get in touch with your employer and the BoI and a call to your UK embassy.

The 9g is a non-immigrant visa which usually expires with leaving the country.
Non-immigrants normally need to pay the normal airport-fee which is in Manila 750 peso.

As you stay already longer as 2 years, there might be other issues. 2 years is the max time for non-immigrants in the PI.

I assume your ACR-I card also says "temporary visitor" and "non-immigrant".

cheers

It says non-immigrant but not temporary, it is valid until the end of 2012 still and according to the card it serves as a re-entry permit and special return certificate too.

Any ideas?

I had a tourist visa for 2 years which i extended fully and up to date.

I will try to call the immigration agency which the company used to process the visa.. perhaps they'll have some insight..

I really don't want to have to re-apply for a working visa again, since it takes a lot of time to complete.

Well, after having called them I was told that while the visa is valid then the only thing i need to do is pay the appropriate fees at the at the airport to get an ECC (exit clearance certificate) then upon return present that along with my ACR and passport.

hope thats the case!

Also you can get a 3 year 9G visa, which is also non-immigrant too as my boss has one.

getting the ECC at the airport could be a pain in the axx. You might wanna get it 2 weeks before departing at the BoI.

If you arrived in the PI as a tourist, you pay ECC already with your second extension, there is just another additional 500 PHP for issuing the Paper before departing (and that can be a bit a hassle at the airport)

The normal Exit Tax for non-immigrants (mostly called airport fee) for you would be in Manila 750 Peso at present.

cheers
