Exclamation Watchout for Travel Advisory

Due to the bombing incidents in some areas in Mindanao (Southern Philippines) in past few days, please be advised to always check for travel advisory before planning or continuing with your trip to the South.

It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Angry Ignore Travel Advisory

Travel advisory is useless in case of suicide bomber. Just continue travelling but avoid the crowded areas, like churches, markets, waiting sheds, cockfighting arenas, bus terminals.
Better don't worry much. Life should go on. I grew up in Mindanao and we take these ambushes, bombings, as part of life. Do not live in fear.
Travel the Philippines. You can go to Basilan or Tawi-Tawi. These are even safer compared to the streets of Manila. You could be stabbed in the dark streets of Manila.
So ignore travel advisory. The countryside is much safer than in Metro Manila.

Davao City has its share of bombing in the past but relative to other places in the south , it is safe.

Default pay attention to Weather Bulletins too

Sure! we all want to experience adventures (like the Pinatubo trek or Puerto Galera vacation) but it's common sense that we should not ignore the latest weather bulletins. Nobody likes to be washed out by the emerging flow of Botolan River nor the big waves of Verde Island Pass to capsize Batangas bounded boats but these accidents are totally avoidable had they listened to the weather bulletin and used some common sense.

REMINDER: let me reiterate to watchout for weather bulletin before considering long distance sea travel. Discounting the climate change phenomenon, wet season in the Philippines normally last until October.
