In almost every place in the Philippines, where ever you go, surely if you just know how to ask you'll always find a local healer. I have observed and and tried to understand the trade of these local healers and their practices never cease to amaze me. I am opening this thread as part of our tribute to these healers that are often times maligned and considered quacks - by western medicine. However, I have personnally seen these and grew up in the hands of these healers(Hilot).

I hope that by initiating this thread - those who have some experience or gained healing can share with us and where these healers can be located. It is beyond me to explain but my daughters when they get asthma, this is the first place I would take them.

Somehow, I believe that there must be a way to preserve this traditional filipino style of medication - long before the advent of antibiotics..


They don't advertise or post signboards - except through word of mouth.
