Are Philippine Airlines Safe?

I recently read about an accident with Zest Airlines in the Philippines, scary stuff

I consider myself a safe traveler, and I would never travel on Russian or China Airlines because of a pretty bad history of accidents.

But are airlines in general safe in the Philippines?

Are there any (other than Zest) I should avoid?

PAL is probably the Airline with the highest standard in the PI. But also the others all come down again.

In general all are safer than 99% of the ferries.

You can be pretty sure a plane will come down if it went up... one way or the other...

It is worse if a ferry comes down though...

Cebu Pacific is safe, too!

I have been a patron of PAL for many years both local and international. So far I am satisfied with their service.

@haize qt I tried CepuPac once it was safe but my flight got delayed for 1 hour.
