Subic is a town of Zambales. It is where White Rock resort is located. It is the next town from Olongapo Citi going up north to Iba town, the province's capital.Since lewd shows are prohibited in the city proper, operators run their girlie shows as after the Olongapo boundary, at barangay Baretto, which is part of Subic town.
The jungle survival training can be availed of inside the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority free port zone, particularly at the forest reserve area. I have attended a couple hour training of jungle survival presented by Aeta tribesmen inside the forest.
Subic town is infamous for its girlie show, the beach resorts and nothing more.
It is SBMA that is the perfect leisure area not Subic town. The best time to be at SBMA is on April-May. You may spend the Holy Week inside the free port or you may view the annuarl Triathlon, participated by athletes all over the globe.
Motorsports racing is held regularly particularly during summer.

what is sad as the area has a lot potential. as a tourist I knew Subic bay for Scubadiving and not girlie-bars.

That was 8 years ago. I am since 8 years in the PI now. Subic describes for most foreigners the whole Subic Bay, not only the the town.

The area is definitely worth to have a good time for 5 days or a week. (Each morning I would go diving with the dolphins anyway... hehe)

Subic has a lot of action and adventure offers for tourists...

I was there a few weeks ago with Rhoody to dive with the dolphins, and on the way out to the Ocean Adventure center we saw a lot of other interesting things to do...

Subic is getting the reputation as the adventure capital of the Philippines, and with offers like Zoobic Safari, Survival camp and Ocean Adventure I find that great. We keep talking about going to Zoobic Safari but haven't made it yet, I even bought the tickets already in SM one day they had a promo there, so we have no excuse

The Subic Bay free port encompasses part of Olongapo City, a part of Bataan province, a part of Zambales. The Subic town is the town next to Olongapo City. Do not mix Subic town and Subic Bay free port. Girlie bars, especially those showing naked ladies, are prohibited in the city. So the operators run their lewd shows in nearby Subic town, which has not strict rules on girlie shows. Please don't take Subic town as the entire Subic Bay free port. They are two different places.
