Mc Donald’s Makati Cinema Square Have you been to Mc Donald’s Makati Cinema Square near Pasong Tamo, Makati? If you happen to visit this Mc Donald’s branch, you will notice its different architecture among other Mc Donald’s store.
Mc Donald’s Makati Cinema Square has two gold arches, one in front and another one at the back. The store is an exact replica of the very first Mc Donald’s store in Des Plaines in Illinois in the United States. The said store is now a Mc Donald’s museum. Another Mc Donald’s outlet with the same architecture was erected in Chicago to commemorate their 50th anniversary.
Back in 1990s Mc Donald’s Makati Cinema Square was quite a special store. Its interior was designed as a 1950s store as the first store was opened in 1955. It has a jukebox in the center and the store personnel are only allowed to play 1950s song. They crew even wore a different uniform form other Mc Donald’s outlets. They wear a red polo shirt and loose checkered pants with a suspender to complete the outfit.
It is all different now, the golden arches are still there but the jukebox is gone. They play popular music and not the 1950s music. The crew wears the same uniform that other Mc Donald’s crews wear from other stores.
I still miss the old store with the 1950s ambiance, but we cannot fight the change. |
