Good for Business - Feng Shui

Over the years or perhaps centuries the Chinese has truly influenced the Filipino culture. It has been part of our daily lives and one good example is that the influence on our food preference. Aside from the influence to our simple daily routines their so called Fung Shui is also now a part of our culture. Many Filipino-Chinese or pure Pinoys attribute part of their success in business and living from this ancient Chinese practice.

Well what actually is Fung Shui? If this is translated literally it means “wind and water” the elements that give and sustain life. The practice is to arrange the surroundings to achieve harmony and good luck wherein the principle is based on the belief that our surroundings is composed of negative and positive energy or also known as “chi”. Following Fung Shui means that it is to make sure that the positive chi flows smoothly in the environment and in our body by making the correct arrangement in the surroundings of ones home or business establishment. It can be very simple like for example choosing the right spot to place a work desk, the bed, or a mirror. Or it can be complex like choosing the correct direction of doorways or entrances during the construction of a house or business establishment. I know some friends of mine opted to spend for a house or business renovation in order to follow Fung Shui suggestions. And as I observed it brought them more luck and success in money, career, and family.

There are some who are still skeptics. Well I cannot bend their beliefs but it would not hurt if we follow. There are already famous persons who are Fung Shui believers like Donald Trump, MGM Grand Casino, and people behind the construction of United Nations Building. My European bosses also follow Fung Shui because they have annual budget for this.

I have spoken to my Fung Shui consultant and he told me that most Fung Shui is based on common sense. Like for example the belief that the cash register should not be located along the business doorway entrance because if so the money would simply fly. The common sense here is the robbers can have easy access on your money!
