Default Few Tips for your Palawan Trip

Palawan is unquestionably one of the best places to explore here in the Philippines. I myself was awed with the wonders I have seen. Talking about wonders, Palawan’s Underground River is spectacular. I am confident that it will have a spot in the New Seven Wonders of Nature.

Due to Palawan’s popularity, there are lots of websites about it. And if you’ll research more you’ll find infos regarding the places one must visit and steps on how to get there. I myself also looked at some websites on how I can get a lower fare, and how to get around. But I did not get any package tour advertised because looking at the prices it was expensive. My adventurous friends and I were all first timers when we went to Palawan and having said that, we still chose not to book something in advance, we decided that we will go there as backpackers.

Anyways, when we reached the airport we found out that it wasn’t hard all. Because at the exit area there are locals offering vans for rent, island hopping tour packages, underground river package, pension house accommodations, etc. It was like a flea market. You can canvass and choose where you can get the best package and price. So this is my first tip, you can spend less if you go there and arrange with the locals instead of arranging it with travel agencies.

We were a seven pax group at that time and this had given us an advantage when we rented the van, boats, and tricycles. Because whatever you rent the prices are determined on per trip not on per head basis. Thus my second tip is to travel in groups to reduce vehicle rent expenses.

I believe most of you who experienced Palawan went straight to the beaches. Well this is my last tip; ask the driver to make stop overs at photo spots. Yes there are small stores along the way made for the purpose of landscape photography. Just donate a few peso and they will let you access their rooftops. Attached here are some pictures I took.
