| A local tour/travel agency has been offering day-tour Island hopping in Bacuit Bay. Since there are too many islands and islets to be explored, there are three (3) available day-tour trips to choose from; Tour A,B and C, I took them all, starting with B then C and finally A. Tour C The most exhilarating among the El Nido Island hopping trips was Tour C. It was a bit far off and unlike A and B, only South China Sea separated us from the coast of Vietnam. I’m with the same group of jolly Britons and a couple of chatty European backpackers. C started with a snorkel in the deep water around Matinloc Island, strong underwater current is imminent in these waters. I didn’t dare dip into the deep waters , I’m not an ace swimmer (in diving I’m confident in the deep because of the gear) plus I didn’t brought/rented a set of fins-my mistake! Anyway, as expected they saw some sea turtles and enjoyed snorkeling for a while when suddenly the group seemed to be alarmed so we decided to pick them up instead of having them swim back to the boat. True indeed, the cause of alarm was really startling, an army of big jellyfish was coming towards their direction. After rescuing them from the giants, our group proceeded to what appeared to be a small underwater cave. The group got out of the boat and swam towards that “underwater cave” which was actually a small natural enclave, where we had to walk (not swim) towards the covert entrance to our next stop, the Secret Beach. I would say that was the highlight of this trip. Maybe because the group was on the final moments together, or because the trail to Secret Beach was very challenging or maybe because our guide was always jovial whatever it was, Secret Beach is awesome, truly a gift from God. At mid day, we went off to have lunch in probably the hottest place in El Nido, an island with no shade at all, I think they call it “Star Beach”. It’s really hot there, we came in dripping and had lunch we were all dry when we hopped back on the boat after less than an hour. Then off we went to our final stop, Tapuitan Island where we snorkeled, took loads of picture for our Friendster and Facebook, we had the famous afternoon tea in the beach and had fun. Towards the end of tour C and on our way back to El Nido town, we noticed multitude of giant jellyfish moving along with us, a lot bigger than those in Matinloc Island. Altogether, we had a wonderful trip and all for only P900 per person. BRING Camera, Towel, Swimsuit, Sunblock, : Mineral Water, soda and beer are available in the boat while mask & fins must be secure at the start of the trip, the shop rents out the gears. |
