Butuan City is one of the major cities in Mindanao and belongs to the first district of Agusan Del Norte which is part of the region 13 in the Philippines called Caraga. I just heard 2 girls in the gym talk about the city. They said that BUTUAN should be read as boot•wan and not bu•tu•an.
I don't know what their dialect is but they said that bu•tu•an has a different meaning.

If anyone knew the difference of the two, would you mind sharing it here?
