Default Small Eatery, Big in Taste

It's not really a restaurant. It's a small eatery people in the vicinity have fondly called "Sisig Corner" because it serves superb sisig. The food? My goodness! It can be compared to the best restaurants in the city. They serve native Filipino food like Dinuguan, Sinigang, Adobo, Chicken Curry, and Bicol Express, among others. I rate them all super delicious! I and my family often buy take-home orders there.

It's at the corner of Assistant and Accounting Streets in GSIS Village, Project 8, Quezon City. If you happen to find yourself lost in that locality, the first thing you do is ask directions to this eatery--before you ask directions to where you're really going. It has dining tables along the covered sidewalk, something like what you see in French restaurants. While waiting for your order, you smell the tempting aroma of spicy recipes being cooked in the open-air.

The place is not much compared to posh eateries, but I'm talking about delectable native dishes at a very reasonable price. Is it mine? Nope. I just enjoy eating there, that's all.

I was recently in Singapore, and these kind of food centers are the norm there, you got 100s of small stalls liike the food courts here in the Philippines, but the selection there is much wider and more chinese / malay oriented of course...

But this area in Quezon City sounds very interesting and would be well worth a visit.

Speaking of Bicol express, I have had so many different versions and I am not sure I tried the original Bicol version yet, it seems like every corner of the country have their own version of this Bicol dish...

I think my favorite version was actually in Kinabuchs in Palawan - very dry, very spicy and a PERFECT companion with BEER!
