Aside from the restaurants, cafes, bars, shops and hotels that cater to tourists in Angeles City, there are also a number of spas that offer relaxation and therapy. Both locals and tourists come to Angeles City spas in order to receive skin treatments, massages and detoxification procedures. Here are the common types of massage offered in spas in Angeles City, Philippines.

1. Swedish

Swedish massage is one of the most common types of massage in the Philippines. This type of massage is also known as “massage therapy.”

After the application of massage oil or lotion, the therapist will massage muscles in the body using gentle kneading and smooth strokes. Because this is one of the gentlest massages, this is best for those who are going to have their first massage at the spa.

2. Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a based on Japanese therapy that use finger pressure on acupuncture points. Pressure is applied to each point in order to improve energy flow and balance. Although pressure is applied to the body, it doesn’t result in any sore muscle after the massage. It is also one of the best massages for those who would like to relax.

3. Thai Massage

Similar to shiatsu, Thai massage employs the use of pressure on acupuncture points. During this massage, your extremities are also stretched into different postures. Those who would like to improve their flexibility and get energized will benefit a lot from having this massage.

4. Reflexology

Thus, when pressure is applied on certain points, certain organs in the body are also energized. Relexology is also a relaxing form of massage.

5. Back Massage

Those who would like to have quick massages can take advantage of the back massage offered in most spas and salons. Back massage just takes 30 to 40 minutes. This is a good massage for those who experience mild back and neck pains.

6. Hilot

“Hilot” is the local form of massage in the Philippines. This is done through a combination of smooth strokes and some stretching. While there are some spas that offer “hilot” as one of their massages, most people who specialize in this type of massage are found in local communities.

Getting a massage is one of the best ways to relax and improve the body’s functions. However, for those who have some special medical considerations, it is best to consult a doctor before getting a massage.
