Rural Bank of Kawit Just like many parent, my mother inculcated to us the importance of saving money so that we will have fund in times of need.
I first set foot in Rural Bank of Kawit when I was ten years old. My mother accompanied me to open an account to deposit the money I save from money given by relatives during Christmas. I deposited one hundred pesos. It sounds funny now, but that is a big amount for me during that time. I started saving up from my school allowance to increase my savings. My mother sometimes borrows my money if she runs out of funds.
Now that I’m a bit successful, I continue to deposit my savings with this bank that is more than 50 years old. The ambiance is too familiar; some bank employees who were already employed when I was ten were still there. They service they provide is better with that of big commercial banks. They also offer higher interest for special deposit accounts.
I owe a lot from this bank, it helped me understand the value of money and continue to save up until now.
The bank is part of the community and also a part of me. |
