Default Aguinaldo Shrine

I am very lucky to be living near a historical area. Aguinaldo Shrine is the site of Philippine Independence on June 12, 1898. I pass this historical place almost everyday, and still every time, it feels like I’m being transported more than one hundred years ago during the first presentation of our beloved Philippine flag. It felt good inside that we are finally free.
On 1998, during the centennial, some houses were brought down to give way to a park now called “Liwasang Aguinaldo” Now, the park is the center of all activities in Kawit, Cavite, Fiesta, job fair, concerts and even tiangge.
This year’s Independence Day presentation was a showcase of re-enactment complete with costumes and theatrical drama. The presentation was given a modern twist by “sex bomb” like dancers.
Anyone can visit Aguinaldo Shrine for free, the management only request for few donations. I’m not sure if it’s still there, but Emilio Aguinaldo has a hologram inside the house which is almost life like. The antique bowling lane is interesting, its just one lane with a wooden bowling ball. One can find a big Philippine map in the ceiling of the dining area.
Visit Aguinaldo shrine and be transported to the past.
