Default Taal Volcano

"an volcanic island within a lake on an island within an lake on an island"

did you get it? well thats taal volcano.
the smallest active volcano in the world which is loacted in the taal lake in towns of talisay and san nicolas. 50 kilometers south of metro manila. it has many eruptions in the past back to the 17th and 18th century.
if you want a nice and perfect view of it you may go to tagaytay city which is highly elevated. there you will see the many islands inside the taal lake.
You may even go to taal volcano directly to a boat ride from the town of talisay. there you can experience taal volcano. many tourist are attracted to go there. then at the island there a horse rides available to go the top of the volcano. recently a korean comapny has started to build a resort and spa there. but many people disagreed. its a national park don't put structures on it. so construction halted and never started again. it is now also included in the tentative list of protective landscapes in batangas.
There are also many inhabitants in the taal volcano island in fact they have already bulid their homes there. They are fisherfolks the primary reason why they are there. They grow tilapias a local fish in fish cages.
hope now you got a little info about it.

Tourists Banned As Philippine Volcano Shakes

Quote:
Tourists were ordered off an island volcano near the Philippine capital Tuesday after seismologists detected ground shaking that they said could presage a minor eruption.

"Significant volcanic and seismic events have been detected over the past months" and the main crater of Taal "remains off limits to the public because steam explosions may suddenly occur or high concentrations of toxic gases may accumulate," an official advisory said.

The tiny crater island is surrounded by a lake that formed from a past eruption. Scores of visitors cross the lake by boat every day before making a short day hike to the 311 meter high crater lip.

Taal is one of the country's 22 active volcanoes with 33 known eruptions in recorded history.

Two weeks ago seismologists raised the second of a multi-stage volcano alert over Mount Mayon on the southern tip of the main island of Luzon following increased seismic activity.

Taal volcano is really amazing attraction and one of a kind volcano in the heart of the Philippines. We've been there once and we love every bit from food, hospitality and of course horse riding.
