| Batangas Tagalog is a dialect of the Tagalog language spoken primarily in the province of Batangas as well as some parts of Quezon, Laguna, and Mindoro island. It is not customary in colloquial Batangan to speak in Taglish or to infuse English terms as the custom is with Manila Tagalog. The dialect is distinctively characterized by a very strong accent and its vocabulary and grammar is more closely related to ancient or old-style Tagalog. Like the word kain (eating)in tagalog is "kumakain" but in batangas tagalog it's "nakain". Another is tawag (to call)in tagalog is "tumatawag" but in batangas tagalog it's "natawag". The difference between um and na. In Tagalog this is done by inserting the infix -um- after the first syllable then by repeating the first syllable. In Batangas Tagalog this form is done by putting the prefix na- to the word. Sometimes you get confused you might thought it has a different meaning but its the same. Hope you got a little idea from the examples that i gave above. By the way what is the meaning of ala-eh? |
