Cool How to get Get TV From Home

I am sitting here in my house in the Philippines and I am watching TV back from Denmark om my widescreen TV right now...

Sounds interesting?

This is how I did it:

My buddy in Denmark bought a Slingbox on Amazon.com and hooked it up to his cable TV and Internet line back in Denmark.

Then I went to Amazon.com here and bought a Sling Catcher and we got these 2 devices configured to connect to each other.

So now the slingbox in Denmark is broadcasting Danish TV to me via the Internet - I usually get around 500-700 Kbps connection between the Slingbox and Slingcatcher on my Comclark cable 2Mbit Internet connection.

This speed is enough to get a very nice picture here and it is awesome to have 50+ channels from Denmark here

I have tried a slinghosting service in the States as well, I got around 200 US channels, with a Digital Video recorder for around $100 a month - quite cheap and the connection from the US slingbox host was usually 1500Kbps in stead, so the image there was crystal clear.

I can not recommend any slingbox hosting services, the one I tried is no longer offering it on their website, but a quick Google search will turn up several options

This is something a lot of expats would be interested in, so I hope this quick guide on how to use a Slingbox to get TV from home will help some of them. Post questions in this thread if you need more information about this.

Happy TV watching...

Default

The Slingcatcher is connected straight to the Internet...

If you just wanna watch from your computer then you don't need to buy the SlingCatcher, then you can just install softwaree to connect with the Slingbox in the other end

Default vice versa?

I wonder if it'll work the other around?.....watching local (Philippine) tv programs in Western Europe, not necessarily Denmark.
