| hey guys... the cases of AH1N1 in the Philippines is increasing. But the DOH assures the public that there is nothing to worry since the situation is still under control. I guess all we have to do is to watch our health. Regular intake of supplements and vitamin C can boost our immune system. It is also important that we always practice good hygiene. For those who experience flu-like symptoms, approach your physicians immediately. |

| Yes! WHO just announced that A-H1N1 is already Level 6 - Pandemic, a worldwide spread of this nano-sized microorganisms...it is present in 75 countries with 30,000 affected and 100+ mortality but not to panic as the DOH says. Dengue is a bigger threat here in the Philippines , it has a yearly 300 death cases So Guys, let's make a habit of washing hands, covering our mouth and nose especially around people with flu like symptoms and in public places. As the saying goes, at the first sign of symptoms, consult your doctor For more information , please click on these links WHO | Guidance for individuals and CDC H1N1 Flu | Guidance |

| two of my bible study disciples texted me early morning last week. they described what they were feeling, and it looked like Ah1n1. "oh no!" i told myself. i told them to get expert help quick! and they did! turned out it was stomach hyper acidity--stomach ache, shortness of breath, vomiting, LBM, head ache, coughing, and a feeling like getting a fever any minute. the docs sent them home after a thorough check (which cost them). so i told them, "guys, go look for another job. or do a business. your job's killing you!" i found out one of them only ate supper per day because of her hectic sched! goodness gracious! |

| So is this something I should be worried about when I visit the Philippines, I haven't set myself on a date yet and I haven't bought my ticket yet - so if this is a concern I can wait until the pandemic is called off and things are back to normal. On the other hand Thailand is another option I have considered, it seems like there is a lot of things to do there too. Any ideas? Odie |

| The current pandemic -AH1N1 influenza- is affecting an approximate total of 100 countries, including European countries. Going to Thailand instead does not excuse you from possible contamination. Health authorities say that we have a relatively weak strain, there are about 603 and 1 fatality according to the latest news bulletin. I think the person is a returning "Overseas Filipino Worker" (OFW) while Thailand has 774 cases with no fatality (WHO June 24 update) You may have been overwhelmed by the welcoming committee at the airport, hehehe! I know! hehehe! Not to worry, just take the necessary precautions (avoid close contact with people manifesting flu-like symptoms, refrain from touching things esp in public, wash your hands regularly and take your vitamins) and try to watch the news for updates. And welcome to the Philippines. Last edited by smallbird; June 26th, 2009 at 08:36 AM. |

| The news says that the Philippines have recorded the first AH1N1 mortality on June 22 but DOH investigations revealed that the cause of death of the patient was actually cardiac arrest with complications of pneumonia and not AH1N1. But the patient tested positive for AH1N1 strain. Information were disclosed days after the incident maybe because the patient herself did not seek any medical assistance and waited for things to get out of hand. |

awww.. my officemate has been coughing and sneezing for like more than 2 weeks now, and it has been disturbing us.. is chronic coughing one symptom a person with the virus? |

| i think so... but there are other symptoms that you need to watch out. even if AH1N1 is a pandemic, we can still be safe from the virus by maintaining good hygiene. For instance, it is best to drink vitamins regularly. It is also helpful to wash hands often. |
