Nurses no other nationality can offer the best nursing care other than Filipino way.

Filipino nurses have garnered its title as the best quality nurses as evidenced by the number of countries lined up for demand of our care.

I am very saddened of the nursing industry in the Philippines. Many of the Filipino nurses are dying to go abroad but we failed to recognize the greater calling for our care by our very own Filipino brothers and sisters.

I could never forget the every second sad moment when I was still on my college years having my duty on a government owned hospitals.

I was assigned to the pediatrics unit which made more it more devastating, having the sight of kids all day crying due to unchanged 1 diaper old diaper. They can’t afford one and so the kid cried all day.

It was a big thrush to my heart when dehydrated kids needs to be hydrated intravenously and they can’t afford again IV cannula. For sure it was a matter of life and death then and poverty is at the corner waiting for its call.

The sad thing there are a lot of nursing graduate who wants to offer their services for free to those in need hospitals but then again applying for nursing volunteer is very hard and sometimes the wanna- be trainees was obliged to pay as well.

Hope the every Filipino nurse can serve the country first before other countries.
