one jeep story
I am born and raised in Davao but I was with my conservative and ever protective parents. I was fetched in school until I graduated in high school and getting myself into college with myself as my company in going to school was very difficult.
In Davao where travelling by the most convenient and cheap mode is on the go, our very own jeepneys or we locally call jeep. It is not the fastest like the bullets in other countries but it is simply the best in me.
The best because after about 4 years if riding jeep on and off have come to realize billions of lessons in life while on the jeep. Since I’m fond of looking and simply observing people around me, wondering how their lives like.
I must say you can never see others’ passenger presence unless you are settles in the jeep. It does not need to be comfortable since the seven seater jeep can be transformed by the “conductors” or the passenger caller man hanging outside the jeep can fill it to 10 seats per row. Amazing huh? But that’s Filipinos. NO overloading rules apply only the driver’s income.
It is indeed very uncomfortable but you’ll see how people’s personality slowly shows up. Some would offer to be a little bit outside the bench and some would even make themselves more comfortable. Some will make some space and some will even sacrifice their seat to hang outside and be the superhero of your day.
Each jeepney ride is indeed a story and I love every story I had. |
