| It’s not a posh restaurant actually. And it’s my cousin from Manila who even told me that the food there is great. Oh, really?! So I checked it myself. And I was awed. True, the food is good. But the place is not that captivating at all, that right. Along the highway of Quezon Boulevard just a few meters from Magsaysay Park stood an old restaurant. But within its perimeter, lined up high-end vehicles of prestigious dignitaries whom I guess most are probably not from Davao. Luz Kinilaw serves authentic Davao cuisine. The inihaw na tuna panga (roast jaw of yellow fin tuna) and kinilaw (fresh fish sliced into cubes marinated with vinegar or kalamansi added with salt) are the two famous dishes that guests come back for more. But of course, the main menu itself is the tuna panga aligned on the clear glass window below. You have to choose the tuna of your choice and they’ll grill in for you in less than 20 minutes. And the price, very reasonable. Luz Kinilaw can be easily spotted as the aroma of the tuna panga will bring you there aside from the white smoke the grill emits. After meal, one could have a fresh fruit dessert then at the Magsaysay Park fruit stands. |
