Davao as the key City of Mindanao and as part of the three metro cities of Philippines has always been branded as one of the war cities. Neighboring cities has made a name out of negative terrorism updates and I owe my country not to mention it anymore to give it some peace. Amidst the negative feedback Davao was never less the same than other normal cities. In fact I can say that security wise, we have more than any other cities. We received threats but they are not strong enough to weaken the foundation we had. On Davao boundaries, a group or armies always stand their post to survey the incoming visitors. Police offices are very visible on salient points as well as small police unit that house one to two police per post in every busy street to look into Davao’s safety. Even on mobile we can see Police wearing shorts on mountain bikes as street patrollers making police access easy. In commercial and government people crowded amenities like Parks and malls police visibility is everywhere. Police in Davao is always fast in response to duties call as connected with 911, within minutes they can surely cater their services and secure safe community Police alert is not caused by threat but the police prevention has always proved best than Police Intervention.

We can't totally avoid discussion of peace and safety in the South thus we really need information/verification from an insider like you. At least, tourists and would-be tourist can proceed ( to the South) based on an informed decision. I know that Davao City and all the other unexplored places in Mindanao is truly our treasure. Thanks for this information and hope to hear more of Mindanao.

I have been all over Mindinoa, but never to Davao. I usually stay in central Mindanao, but this year we will be in Davao. Is there a place in Davao that I can purchase pepper spray? I’m not even sure if pepper spray is legal in the Philippines. I always carry pepper spray at home in the U.S. It is a great equalizer, and it’s safe. Does anyone know of a place that I can buy law enforcement equipment?

Better make use of your time touring Davao... I also bring with me tear gas allthe time. Some of the malls confiscates and some does not bother.... but when your inside the cinemas it is striclty prohibitted.. Inside the malls of DAvao there are few stores who sells fire arms and the like and that includes pepper spray.... The common stores I know are PALO at Putok and ArmsCor. anyway my tear gas will soon expire since In Davao using tear gas or pepper spray is a once in a blue moon act.... ENJOy DAvao....
