Default White Beach Canibad Island

Clean and untouched Blue waters, white sand beach, and mountain range three words that best describes Canibad Island. An island away from civilizations and far developed from the boosting tourism economy of Samal Beaches.

Island Garden Of Samal is the neighboring island of Davao City which recently gained its political identity as an official City. It is known for its ecologic tourism.

From Davao City you can take a bus from two terminals, Sta.Ana wharf and Sasa Wharf where the bus or if you've taken with you privately owned car are brought to Samal via a commercial barge.

Basically the island is well known for two main spots Babak and Penaplata. From Penaplata you can ride either chartered mini jeepney for 800 pesos or ride a public utility motorcycle locally known as "habal-habal" for 150 pesos maximum of three persons.

The motorcycle ride was quite a challenge, the road downhill is not yet developed but is not swampy instead very dry and close to smooth road thanks to the natural rocks. AS the motor ride paces you can feel the cold air swinging with the trees at the roadside not to mention the breath takong scenery along the way where you'll be full of the overlooking islands and the beaches. It can take you to the uphill of Canibad for 25-35 minutes.

Once uphill you will be challenged to the down slope trekking which is quite steep but made easy , thank to the developed trail and bamboos to hold on.The prize of the adventure is more than enough once you got to the beach.

Surrounded by mountains rip curls of the waves, blue waters and white sand, natural rhythm of birds and whispers of trees, and natural formed stone figures are indeed incomparable. there is a nearby fish sanctuary in the island that helps the locals in their livelihoodThere are few cottages available which ranges from 300-1500 pesos.

There are some convenience store nearby and electricity is run by the generator so it is not always available depending on the number of tourist to stay at night. At night you can see fireflies which are seldom seen.It is indeed an island of captivated beauty.

Canibad Island well kept and protected is indeed worth every visit.

Default Touring

It seems to be that this is a very nice place. It must be good to have quiet moments there . This remind me of Sedona.
Sedona Arizona offers some of the most breathtaking scenery in all of the United States. The Grand Canyon, nature's most spectacular attraction, is within a day's travel of Sedona.

Default preserve

nice to hear that... the world is too small for us to enjoy this nature's wonder but we have to preserve them as well...

You can might as well visit the Philippine's wonderful beaches

Smile Can't wait to be with nature again.

This is part of my 4D/3D solo trip itinerary in Davao. It's actually my first trip in Davao and I'll be in Isla Reta for a night and in Canibad for a night as well. I'm more excited to see the place after reading your post. I just hope it won't rain the whole time I'm in Davao so I could take some pictures of the place.

Could you advise which resort in Canibad should I go to?

Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks much!
