The city is filled with many districts made for businesses and posh villages where many millionaires reside but on the other part of Davao the atmosphere and environment is still very rural. There are still hills that have valleys at the end because of the wide landscape of the majestic Mount Apo. Mount Apo is considered as the grandfather of the mountains in the Philippines. The people who live there are Manobos, Mandaya, Bagobo tribes and Bilaan tribes which all belong to ethnic Philippine tribes.

Davao is considered as a rich land with bountiful blessings from nature. The festival known as “Kadayawan” is the main festival of the city that shows the world the bountiful land of Davao. It shows that it has plenty of natural resources and rich in cultural heritage. The feat is held during the month of August. It is a long merrymaking feast that lasts for a week. It honors the different tribes that live in Davao. The festival also includes a lot of dancing and traditional games and songs. This merry occasion is also coupled with a trading fair and ends with a float made of flowers and fruits. The city also holds many entertainment competitions at night like dancing contests and singing contests.

The major industry in Davao comes from agriculture. Davao is a region which highly exports most of the agricultural products like citrus fruits, bananas and mangosteens. The region is also a major producer of flowers that are cultured. The waters surrounding the island are teeming with marine animals.

Davao is actually the biggest city if you consider the land area. Davao has two hundred forty four thousand hectares. The Philippine Eagle is the national bird of the Philippines. It is majestic and very regal. The plumes of the eagle are white with areas of gray. The eyes are sharp with curved beaks. The span of the wings measures up to eight feet. The Philippine Eagle is endangered specie and the biggest eagle conservation center is just forty five minutes from Davao city.
