The times where the diving-industry was searching desperately for Dive-masters and Instructors are a kinda over. Most professional dive-centers focus on high-quality.
But there are several options to get into it. Don't forget that in many areas you are competing with local dive-guides who have thousands of dives under their belt and working in that business for many many years.
A big benefit is if somebody tries to get things very good done in a reputable dive-center over some years.
In the 2 big dive-center I was working, we trained some of our staff up to dive-master over the years and when they finally became one, they could basically run a dive-center (and some of them do).
Going into a diving-career has a lot to do with the life-style, not many get rich, at least not many I know, but many get burned out after recognizing that it is hard work with many hours. From a 12 hour day you might be 2-3 in the water, the rest is shared between being a tank boy, maintenance-guy, office-clerk, tourist-guide and mostly entertainer.
I have about 3600 dives and love what I am doing as the few hours in the water make up for all the other hours, but it is not an easy way to go.
Just get in touch with me and we can have a nice chat and a cold one.

Well thanks Rhoody, that would be very cool. There are lots of question I want to ask and more knowledge I need to know. I don't really plan to get rich if I become a dive master. I just want to do it.
I went to Manila last March and realize the city life isn't for me so I came here to Dumaguete. I was born in Basilan and grew up in Zamboanga City and spent so many days of my life hanging out in the beach. If ever I become a dive master I plan to help the diving tourism in Zamboanga if things there get better and the tourism there as a whole. I know a few notable people there that can help me .
I plan to dive at turtle island and see for myself if there are turtles there for real

. I just feel that there are many unknown best dive site in south of the Philippines that needs to be preserve. Also maybe ill just do it for the love of doing it not for money sake.
