My bible disciple, Jane, who is often sent on marketing and promo missions by their multi-national company, recently told me of her visit to Cebu last week. She said she didn't enjoy the place as she did before. It looked more like Alabang than a place for refreshing and relaxing vacations, she said. But if you're a guy more hell bent on shopping than relaxing on vacations, Cebu is right for you, she added.
In her recent Cebu trip, she and her company stayed at Regency Hotel. She talked about the roller coaster ride available on the top floor that costs thousands of pesos to enjoy. And the Regency, she said, looked too crowded. I told her that's good business for the hotel. But it was bad vacation experience for her, she said.
She also lamented the sorry state of the Magellan's Cross in Mactan. It looked more like Magellan's pee place, she almost commented. And the old church nearby lacks maintenance. There's got to be some restorations done to that place! And pronto!
But on a positive note, Jane told me she thought the best seafood restaurants are still in Cebu!
How to get to Cebu? Buy a ticket and get on the ship! Now!
